On the occasion of World Day for Decent Work, celebrated on October 7 of each year, Confederation of Productive Forces Trade Unions To all workers in Algeria, let's salute their ongoing struggle to uphold the principle of decent work, which guarantees workers' dignity and fundamental rights. This day is an opportunity to renew our pledge to create a work environment that guarantees equality, social justice, and social protection for all workers.

In this context, the Confederation affirms that the establishment of decent work in Algeria cannot be achieved without the effective activation of trade union freedoms. Trade union freedoms are the cornerstone through which the demands of Algerian workers can be met. They are the means to protect their rights, improve working conditions, and raise their standard of living. Therefore, we call on the Algerian government to take serious steps toward activating these freedoms in accordance with the international agreements signed by Algeria, ensuring the effective independence of trade union activity and lifting unjustified restrictions on it.

The Confederation also calls on the Algerian government to open a serious and open dialogue with all independent unions that have filed complaints with the International Labor Organization, and to address these issues objectively and transparently. Constructive dialogue is the only way to resolve existing disputes and guarantee the rights of workers and unions, free from any arbitrary practices.

The Confederation strongly condemns the policy of arbitrary dismissal of workers and the obstruction of union activity through harassment and pressure on union leaders. Such policies only contribute to the deterioration of the working environment and increased social tension, posing a threat to the country's economic and social stability.

On this occasion, the Confederation of Productive Forces Trade Unions renews its commitment to defending workers' rights. It also calls on all social actors to join forces to build a decent work system that guarantees a decent life for all, within a framework of freedom, justice, and democracy.

Long live the workers' struggles, long live trade union freedoms.
