In a statement issued today, Wednesday, March 18, 2025, the Palestinian Confederation of Productive Forces expressed its deep concern and profound sorrow over the bloody events taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where the brutal Israeli aggression continues, leaving more than 413 martyrs in a single day, most of them children and women, and more than 1,000 wounded, including 500 seriously.

The statement noted that the victims included newborn infants and children under the age of eight, who were killed under the violent Israeli bombardment, carried out with explicit American support and blessing. The Confederation described these events as a "heinous massacre" perpetrated against the defenseless Palestinian people, expressing its strong condemnation of these brutal practices.

The Confederation also sharply criticized the American role in fueling this aggression, noting that the United States, especially since the arrival of the Trump administration, has become "a symbol of global insecurity and instability," rather than a sponsor of international peace and justice. It emphasized that this shameful role contradicts the humanitarian and moral principles that great powers are supposed to uphold.

In this context, the Confederation called on the Algerian government, as a representative of the Amazigh and Arab Muslim people, to take a firm and resolute stance against these crimes against humanity. It also called for the activation of Algerian diplomacy in international forums to expose Israeli practices and support the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that Algeria, as a country with a long history of struggle, must be at the forefront of defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Confederation did not forget to appeal to the generous Algerian people, who have always stood in the forefront of just causes, urging them to raise their voices against this humanitarian tragedy. It also urged citizens to exert all possible pressure on the US Embassy in Algeria to denounce the massacres and instability in the Middle East, in which it is now directly involved, and to remind them that the Palestinian cause is the cause of every Arab and Muslim.

On the other hand, the Confederation called on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities and put an end to this aggression, which violates all international conventions and norms. It also called for a prompt and impartial investigation into these crimes and for all those involved in committing or supporting them to be held accountable, stressing that international silence constitutes unacceptable complicity in the face of these grave violations.

Concluding its statement, the Palestinian Confederation of Trade Unions affirmed that it will always stand with those defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and will work at all levels to support this just cause, so that the Palestinian people can achieve their freedom, independence, and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

This statement comes at a time of heightened tension in the region, with ongoing clashes in Gaza and the West Bank amid growing calls from human rights and international organizations for a ceasefire and respect for human rights. The Confederation of Trade Unions of Productive Forces, like other trade union and human rights organizations, continues to highlight the suffering of the Palestinian people and call on the world to take effective action to end this humanitarian tragedy.
