SNAPAP emphasized that fuel is not merely a commercial commodity, but a structural pillar of economic activity and public service delivery. In this context, the union called on public authorities to immediately reverse the price increase and to assume their responsibility in protecting citizens and workers from further social and economic deterioration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Independent Union of Public Administration Employees (SNAPAP) strongly denounces the increase in fuel prices at this critical moment, when Algerian citizens are already experiencing a sharp erosion of their purchasing power as a result of accelerating inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a time when public authorities should be prioritizing measures to ease the increasingly fragile social and economic conditions\u2014both for citizens in general and for workers in particular\u2014this unjustified decision comes as a deeply troubling development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a hydrocarbon-producing country such as Algeria, this increase can only be interpreted as a blatant retreat by public authorities from their duty to protect citizens from poverty, and as a clear disregard for the daily hardships they are forced to endure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, SNAPAP raises a fundamental question: did the public authorities, when deciding to raise fuel prices, take into account the negative consequences of this rushed, sudden, and incomprehensible measure on the economy and on public services\u2014particularly the transport sector, and more specifically the transport and distribution of basic goods and essential foodstuffs, whose prices will inevitably rise as a result ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accordingly, SNAPAP calls on public authorities to urgently cancel this fuel price increase. Fuel is not an ordinary product; it is a key driver of economic activity and public services. Any disruption in this sector has direct and serious repercussions on citizens\u2019 daily lives and on the national economy as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
